Who is Ocean Paddlesports
Ocean Paddlesports is a California based dealer of Fenn Surfskis and Carbonology ocean racing surfskis and kayaks.
We are the distributor for Fenn Surfskis and Carbonology Surfskis along with Vaikobi, Ocean performance clothing. We sell Fenn , Gara, Orka and Jantex Paddles.
Our products are used by the top athletes in ocean racing–champions like Dean Gardner, Cory Hill, Hank McGreagor, Dawid Mocke, Austin Keiffer, Michael Booth, Naomi Flood and Haley Nixon.

Our History
Ocean Paddlesports was founded in 1997 by Patrick and DeAnne Hemmens as a way to promote the sport of surfski paddling in the United States.
Patrick and DeAnne live in Costa Mesa, California and have 2 sons, Hayden and Reece and a daughter Danica.

OPS Team Members
DeAnne spent 10 years traveling abroad and competing for the USA Sprint Kayak Team. She is a gold medal winner in the 1995 Pan American Games in Argentina. A member of the 1996 Olympic Sprint Kayak Team, she stroked the K4 and K2 in Atlanta finishing 10th and 15th respectively. She also ocassionally competes in lifesaving events. Winning the National Lifeguard Surfski Championships 2001 in Miami Beach, Florida as one of the highlights. As for her long distance surfski racing, she has won the USA Surfski Championships in San Francisco whenever she has raced it and has completed the Molokai Channel crossing 4 times (2 x double with Patrick, 2x single).

Patrick a native of South Africa has spent most of his life marathon river paddling (or canoeing as they say in SA) and surf lifesaving (swimming, paddleboard and surfski kayak). After moving to the United States, he trained 10 years with the USA Sprint Kayak Team and competed on the US lifesaving circuit. He has competed in Australia and New Zealand for the USA and continues to win races in the surfski long distance series and in the summer lifesaving competitions. He is a firefighter/paramedic in LA.
