Ok…..why would anyone want to do the toughest one day surfski race in the world?

56 km…tip of Africa, two oceans meet, etc…..

Well, because, since I have know my husband Patrick, he has talked about this race as one of the most exciting he has ever done. So why not travel 13,000 miles around the world with 3 kids and do something most people never will….

Back in the 80’s Pat paddled this race in a tank top and speedo, flat coke as hydration and an old foamy ski. For 2007 we had to have flares, life jackets, cell phones and leashes. We used our gpses…we drank scientifically formulated hydration and wore long pants, wet suit booties, jackets and hats.
